Here’s a very cool educational screenprinting video about Ranar equipment. I just wanted to reaffirm my belief in the people and the product while showing you a very cool short video clip about the prototyping of a new Elite series print head. Ranar is always looking at new ways to improve their products and make them more affordable while being heavily built and durable. Parts are 3D printed and cast for molds. Then aircraft grade aluminum is used to make the part in the mold. See how they pour the liquid metal into the mold and how it is finished off. Screenprinting Equipment & Supply Store: Looking For Our Space

Okay so you all know I am currently looking for a storefront rental in the Phoenix are so I may open up my screen print supply store and offer more services. I was very busy today with phone calls and meeting with customers. But I was able to edit and upload this video finally at the end of the day. Check out a little behind the scenes bit on our search for a storefront. This is a fun Vlog style video in which I share with you 3 spaces that I was looking at to rent. Psst… I am making an offer on one of these. But remember this is my 3rd attempt at renting a space. Sometimes it doesn’t work out in negotiations.

This is a fun Vlog about our quest to find a suitable storefront for the new Catspit screen print supply shop. Get an inside look at the spaces we are looking at and get the latest update on our progress. Follow along as I get a little goofy and share with you 3 rental spaces I looked at this week. As we move forward and set the pace to open a storefront before the end of 2014 we have been looking at a lot of rental properties. In this corporate world it is often difficult to find a reasonable deal with a good lease term. It seems that most corporations make more money filing tax losses for empty spaces rather than renting it. In my opinion there should be a tax penalty for leaving a space empty for too long because you want too much money…. LOL. But you know who makes the laws 😦 I think we’re getting close enough to be making an offer on a space we saw this week. How To Screen Print T-Shirts: What Are Halftones Vs Spot Colors

Here’s an instructional screenprinting video I have been meaning to do for some time. This is a great video for people starting out with screen printing tee shirts who need some clarification about halftone and spot color artwork. I hope this helps out. I do know Photoshop can print bit map halftones without RIP software. But vector art is the standard in the industry so that is what I use and teach. Vector halftones and bit map halftones are very different in quality and capability. I hope this at least helps you all in knowing the difference between spot color and halftone artwork.

This is another educational #screenprinting tutorial video about how to print tee shirts. In this tips and advice video we discuss the differences between halftones and spot colors. What is a spot color? What is a halftone? How do they print? What do the film positives look like? These are all questions we answer in this fun and entertaining video. How To Screen Print T-Shirts: Drying Emulsion Coated Screens Tips

A couple of them will be like an extension of our printing in the summer heat tips video from last week. This week’s tutorial #screenprinting video is about drying your emulsion coated screens and how long it takes. In this video we will touch on what high humidity means for drying emulsion and later this week I will expand on printing in high humidity as well as a brief summary on what it might take to cool a screenprint shop. Screenprinting Tee Shirts: Extreme Hot Weather Print Shop Tips

This is another educational screenprinting video about printing in the extreme hot weather of summer. For those of us in more extreme environments like in the Southwest and other desert areas we can regularly experience temperatures of over 115 degrees Fahrenheit. Check out this video in which I used no fans or cooling during the shooting of the video. You can see simply from making the video how hot and sweaty I became. This is why I do not teach or print much during the summer and video making is reduced to whatever I can do. I can’t wait to get into a space with at least a swamp cooler.

Heat can affect our print work and in this video you can see me get all sweaty as I did not use any cooling to make this. In just making the video I was pretty wet by the end and I thought this would help demonstrate the difficulties of working in hot weather. Some of us either physically cannot cool or work spaces or it is financially impractical so there are a few tips I can give you to help out. Follow along as I mention the most major problems I have encountered in Phoenix Arizona where it gets routinely over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Creating Screenprinting Artwork: Using Adobe Bridge & Clip Art

This is another #educational screenprinting video about using Adobe #Illustrator to make simple #screenprinting artwork. In this tutorial video I show you how to use Adobe Bridge to browse and open your vector files. If you have a collection of vector files like I do and you do not have a way to index or search them then Adobe Bridge can help you do that. Although bridges capable of doing so many things here we simply show you how to use it to look at factor files and open them in order to create simple yet complex screenprinting artwork for making T-shirts. Here you will see how easy it is to combine two pieces of clipart with some text in order to create a simple three color design. Learn how you can start making great screenprint artwork and designs for tee shirts even when you do not have sophisticated Adobe Illustrator or vector art skills. Anyone can create some cool T-shirt art with a little experimentation, creativity, and vector clip art.

This is another educational screenprinting video about creating artwork in Illustrator for printing tee shirts. In this tutorial video you will learn how to use Adobe Bridge for browsing vector art files. Adobe Bridge is most certainly capable of many other things. But you can simply use it to look at your collection of vector files in the event you do not have software that will index or browse them. Learn how to open Adobe Bridge and look at your vector files. You will also see how to open these files and manipulate them in order to make very simple multicolor artwork for printing your T-shirts. Here you will see how we can take two clipart elements and combine them to make a simple yet complex multicolor screenprint. Follow along as I show you how to do these things and witness a little impromptu artwork creation. We think you will find browsing files and creating artwork by combining clipart is a lot of fun and can open up many creative possibilities even when you’re vector artwork abilities are limited.
