I have to take a moment to stop and thank all of the people who have helped me get to where I am today. Of course there are others who helped support me along the way but this video covers the most influential and supportive people behind Catspit Productions, LLC. So this is a very heartfelt thanks to all of my viewers, friends, and family who have helped make Catspit what it is. Don’t forget to take the time yourself to thank all of the special people in your life.
Here’s another new screenprinting video with an actual production view of breaking down the screen and cleaning everything up. In this tutorial screen printing video you get to follow me as I break down a 1 color job and get ready to print another. But this video shows you what I do to clean up, how I work, and it even goes into aside details along the way. It’s a little long but if you want to learn the nuances and get a little private instruction then this video is a must see. I promise you will learn something and enjoy watching 😉
This is an awesome educational screenprinting video tutorial. In this longer production tips video you get to follow along as I break down the press from a previous one color print job. I show you how I take things down and work on press to clean up the screens. Here you will not only get to see me clean a freshly used screen but you will also see what I do when I leaves a screen for too long before cleaning it up. See a clogged stencil be cleared with screen opener. See how press wash and ink was are used differently. Watch as I demonstrate how to clean squeegees and explain why they should not have ink on the handles. Come along on this fantastic voyage through the lessor know regions of screen printing space. See what others don’t show you and learn in detail about the nuances and tricks for printing tee shirts. Jonathan shares it all with you if you take the time to watch and listen.
Alright so I am using a workaround to answer questions on YouTube. Google+ has everything majorly screwed up and nonfunctional. Some comment replies work and others don’t so I am using a combination of methods to attempt to make sure the person asking sees the reply despite the Google problems.
And here is a quick vlog style video about sending out the Halloween costume contest grand prize. I packed this bench press fully assembled and got rid of a bunch of packing material in the Catspit office. So sorry Jacob but you’re going to have to do my recycling for me… LOL 😉
In this very short video we take a quick moment to vlog about the grand prize for the 2013 Halloween video costume contest held by Catspit Productions, LLC. In this vlog style video you get to come along for a ride to the UPS center in Phoenix Arizona as we ship out the grand prize to our 1st place winner. This is a very cool screenprinting production run follow up video to the previous 1 color production run tips video. In the previous video we discussed tips on this set up and test print. Now in this new production run video you get to s…ee the shirts being printed. It’s a fun video with a very cool audio track I like a lot. This is my kind of dance music. May not be for everyone but if you’re feeling Catspit it just might be for you today 😉
This is another educational screen printing video production run. Here we are following up a 1 color production run tips video with the actual production run. This is a fun tutorial in which you can watch Jonathan print some Catspit tee shirts with a 1 color black design on gray shirts. Here Jonathan uses a 160 mesh with a rather thick black ink to produce a soft feeling plastisol print. These shirts have a lessor volume of black plastisol ink printed on them due to the mesh count and thickness of the ink. After the initial laundry wash these prints will have a very soft feel and will get softer with additional washes. Who said you can’t print soft hand with plastisol inks? Not anyone who has worked extensively with them that is for sure. Now it may be true that it will be difficult to get a soft hand with plastisol inks on black tee shirts but it is not impossible to do with other colors and designs. Most anything printed with plastisol inks on an automatic press will feel much softer than that of the same off a manual press.

Here is a video I made due to the frequency of which I am asked about how to print heat transfers. You may think this is a no brainer but there are a few things you should consider especially when using heat transfer papers for use at home. I like to make a few novelty shirts for myself now and then so here are my tips for making heat transfer tee shirts at home.
This is another educational video about creating artwork for making digital heat transfers at home. Standard inkjet or laser heat transfers that do not “self weed” need to be used in a specific way for the best aesthetic results. The heat transfer paper will lay down a polymer adhesive anywhere there is paper contacting the shirt. This is the rectangular ghost or haze most often associated with 8.5×11 inkjet heat transfers. Free standing text and design elements look bad with only the adhesive between them. This video tutorial will teach you how to use the rectangular shape of standard 8.5×11 inkjet or laser T-shirt heat transfers in a way that maximizes the paper and gives you a great look without a ghosting looking haze anywhere. Here you will learn what images work best and what you need to do to print from your home computer to a standard home printer. Follow along and get some tips on using transfer papers made for use at home.

I figured it was time to talk about the live trace function in Illustrator to help all of you beginners and intermediate #screen printers out with creating artwork. This is a very cool function and when used appropriately is a great asset and tool for people who have limited skills in creating vector art.
This is another excellent educational video about creating artwork for screen printing. In this edition of how to use Illustrator for simpletons like me you’ll get to follow me along as I explain the automatic vector function known as live trace or simple trace. Here I give you a quick rundown on the very basic usage of this function and how to utilize it for screen printing artwork. Have you ever wondered if there was an easy way to vector a simple image file containing a graphic? Have you ever found JPEG,s PNG’s or TIFF files with objects you would like to incorporate into your vector art design for tee shirts? This tutorial will give you a basic overview of the automatic vector tracing functions of Illustrator CS3 which may be applied to any version of Illustrator. If you are new to screen printing and creating the artwork you need to screen print then this video will help you out a lot in using found objects in image files of a decent resolution. I think this instructional video will be useful to you in your learning experience.
Come take a walk into the night of the living dead in a desert city. Are you afraid to walk down your street because of zombies? After you watch this video you will be. In this horror video short we see Jonathan walking down the street near the Catspit shop only to be chased by zombies. Does he get away? Is he eaten by zombies? Or does he use some ink flinging talent to ward off those walking dead people? There’s only one way to find out. Have a quick look at this short but very fun zombie video that will leave you wanting more. Happy horror hauntings!
