I hope you all had a great holiday break. I know I was able to get some rest and take a break. Now all the stuff I ordered for stocking the Phoenix storefront is coming in and I have a lot of organizing and checking to do. I’m always checking on the quality of my products as it’s embarrassing to sell something that does not meet up to the customer’s standards. That’s a bummer for both of us 😉 In this image you can see me checking on the mesh tension on my aluminum pre-stretched screens. Normally they are about 20 Newtons but some of them register slightly over as well. This is the one meter I actually have calibrated to check on my screens now and then. It made for a nice image I thought you would enjoy. And don’t forget, I sell screens on my ecommerce site as well as in the storefront.

How To Screen Print T-Shirts: Left Chest Or Crest Print Placement Expanded

Here it is, as requested by you. This is an expanded remake of an earlier video I did about how to print a left chest logo. I tried to get this uploaded last night but I had a minor software issue that prevented it. I also forgot to turn on a few lights for this video…. LOL. It happens.

This educational video is about how to place your left chest print properly. The left chest print is also known as the crest or the over the heart print. The placement of this print location is not critical but there are a few standard placement criteria we can refer to in order to help us get a proper looking crest print. Most screen printers have their own ways of figuring out the print placements for screen printing tee shirts but we do have some industry standards. In this video I discuss those standards which you can use to help figure out where you like to place the left chest print. Just as each shop has its own procedures, each printer will have their own methods and placements. There really is no standard for any of the print locations for screenprinting tee shirts or any other printed garment. That means what looks good to you and your customer is a winner. And remember, the information provided in these videos is from my personal experience. By no means am I saying this is the best way or this is the only way or this is how you have to do it. Rather I’m showing and sharing ways I have seen it done or have done in the past. Enjoy!

I was pretty busy this week but I managed to make a quick video for you covering a topic we have been discussing of late and one that was requested by a recent caller to the storefront. I hope you find this brief video useful and informative.

This educational video is about the differences between dye based and pigment based inkjet inks. Why do we use pigment based inks? Why do we use dye based inks? Which one works best with water proof film positives? All of these questions and more are answered in this brief summary video about inkjet inks for making film positives. In the industry you may hear that dye based inks are best for making water proof film positives. Technically this may be the case but what does that mean for you if you have a printer with pigment based inks and you don’t want to change out he inks? How To Screen Print Tee Shirts: Ganging Up Artwork On Film & Screens

I hope this proves to be a useful video for you all. I get this question a lot even though this may seem obvious to some of you. But follow along and you’ll probably learn something 😉 Oh and can you spot the anomaly? One of these things does not belong and is not usual to see in my videos. What is it? I’ll give you a hint: I was working and forgot.

This educational video is about how to place multiple pieces of art on one sheet of film and/or one screen. Here we discuss a simple yet not so obvious way of using an entire screen or piece of film. Follow along as I walk you through the entire method and make screens. See how I cut film and how I place multiple pieces of art onto one screen printing screen. This method can save a bit of time and money especially in a commercial shop. You can squeeze smaller pieces of art onto screens with the space to allow it. A standard 20×24 screen can usually be set up with a full front or back print along with a left chest print and even a foam trucker hat print. Many small businesses are set up this way even when the customer only is ordering a front only print. That way when they reorder the left chest is already set up. That is of course if you plan on cataloging screens. If you’re just starting out making screens for printing tee shirts then you’ll want to watch this very informative tutorial video.
