So I am having a lot of fun making screen printing videos right now and posting them once every Monday. I am using the last of the video footage I recorded with other, older cameras. Some are retakes with the same cameras but starting in December I will be changing the format to a wide screen, high quality video. The camera is actually an HD unit but I am still learning how to use it and edit videos.
I am finding it harder to edit the videos and keep the HD, widescreen format. I have Sony Vegas and of course Movie Maker but when I use Vegas, it keeps changing my video format. Oh yes, everything is much harder to do in Vegas too. I am working on it. But in the meantime I can at least produce widescreen videos that far exceede the quality of my previous ones. And as we get into the New Year I hope to learn how to make better videos with a higher production value.
The new camera I bought is the Sony Handycam XR350v. I really like it but one big draw back in my eyes is that you have to convert the video format it produces to mpeg or wmv with Sony software included. It ends up using more hard drive space and requires more time to do. It may be because of the HD format, I am not an expert on these things so there may be a reason it doesn’t produce easily usable file formats. It may even be that I haven’t figured out how to change the file format. I am not even sure if I can… LOL. Anyway, you get the idea. I have a lot to learn.
I really would like to use my photographic background and do some creative videos. I have started to dabble with that a bit and I have produced a techno screen printing music video. It is my first concentrated effort to be a little creative with the camera and editing. I want to carry this concept into my regular videos and make them a bit more entertaining to watch.
Hang in there and let see what the next few months will bring us in new screenprinting videos. Learn how to screen print with Catspit Productions, LLC!
