How To Screen Print Tee Shirts: Vector Artwork Vs Bitmap Raster Images

Okay so I’m no graphic art expert but this should give you a basic idea of the differences between the 2 types of graphics files. I thought it would be a good idea to make this info more accessible even though I have covered this before. Also I apologize for the few focusing issues near the end of the video. For some reason the auto focus was trying to focus on my hands. Go figure. Well I don’t have a huge video production department and staff so you’ll have to forgive me 😉

This educational video is about what I know on vector vs bitmap or raster art. I’m sure there are more technical explanations of how these different types of screen printing artwork render themselves but this should give you a basic idea of the fundamental difference. Many people use Photoshop to create screen printing graphics and that’s great. In fact you will need to learn how to use Photoshop for your print work art. But the first place you should start is with vector art and vector software and there are a couple of reasons for that. This video touches on these things and gives you my recommendations for screenprinting artwork creation. Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw create vector files whereas Photoshop makes image files. Learn about JPEG, PNG, and TIFF file formats and what size would be suitable for Illustrator to convert to vector. This is a great general tutorial which will help you better understand screenprinting artwork and graphics. Enjoy!
