It’s been getting a little out of control over here with the screen printing videos for YouTube. I have uploaded 3 videos each week for like the past 2 or 3 weeks. I can’t recall anymore…. must keep going. I have 3 more for you all this week. In January I did a paper stencil and found object video in which I used some store bought items to use as the printing stencil with an open mesh screen. It was a very experimental video but everyone loved it and it was a lot of fun to do as are most of my videos. Therefore I knew right away that I would be doing another paper stencil video in the very near future. And that time is now. I have successfully uploaded the second video about how to screen print tee shirts with hand cut paper stencils.
This one is called, “How To Screen Print T Shirts Using Hand Cut Paper Stencils.” Obviously by the title you can guess what this educational screenprinting video is all about. Not only do I tell you a little bit about the paper stencil process but I did a time lapse of the cutting work. So you get to see me actually cut out all 4 stencils we use to demonstrate the process in the video. This is a really fun process for kids, schools, fine art work and even hobbyist usages. It would make a great hands on activity for anyone who is into printing, craft making and art. I had a great deal of fun doing this myself and I have been screen printing for a long time. It was interesting to me as I got a kick out of printing such detailed and cool designs with a piece of computer paper. I cut and printed a cat, wolf, bird and a sign of sorts. If I have more time in the future I may experiment with this process and print some unique one off fine art prints. I think that would be a lot of fun.
