Screen Printing Tee Shirts: Who Owns The Graphic Artwork And The Screens?

Okay so here’s a quick video I made this week. I had some minor focusing issues in the outro but I was unable to reshoot that due to being very busy currently. It’s not a big deal since it’s at the end when I do my simple plugs. But there is a quick blooper at the end of this video for your enjoyment 😉

Here’s a very cool new screenprinting video about a couple of questions I get asked often. I like to make videos about the most common questions I get through email and other social media venues. This educational video is about 2 questions I get asked almost every week from new and beginning screen printers. Who owns the artwork and who owns the screens? Since people come into our screen print shops with varying degrees of finished art, many people often ask who then owns the artwork. This video explains that briefly and touches on why and when you would own the artwork. The other question I get asked very often is who owns the screens? Again this could be a confusing topic for some but I give you a pretty simple answer that should help you out. So if you have ever worked with customer art or created the art from scratch for a customer, then you may want to check out this video and learn a little about artwork ownership. If you have ever had a customer ask to take their screens with them, then you may also want to watch this short tutorial video where you get an idea of what’s what. Always remember in critical cases to consult a copyright lawyer and seek professional guidance.

Screen Printing At The Ranar Factory: New White Water Based Ink Testing

Here’s a very cool behind the scenes video about testing a new water based ink at the Ranar factory in El Segundo. I’m currently testing a new line of inks to sell on my ecommerce site and in Phoenix, Arizona. This video is about the very first test print for the white water based ink. Here you’ll get to follow along as I actually print this new white water based ink for the very first time. It’s a very candid video in which you can see my delight and surprise at the performance of this ink. So far everything looks good and I am still learning about all the details so any of the details I mentioned in this video may or may not be correct… LOL. I spoke with the manufacturer shortly and he was an Italian guy so I wasn’t sure if I recalled the specifics properly. But we’ll get that all sorted out later once we get rolling. So for now enjoy the video but don’t worry too much about the specifications since I have to double check my info as we move forward with this product. I hope you all enjoy the video!

ISS Screenprinting Trade Show: Cleaning Up The Press & Screens In Fast Motion

Here’s a fun video you can watch for real time production tips on cleaning up screens. This is a time lapse or fast motion video so I do not speak toy you but if you watch what I am doing, you should be able to see how I work and what I do with cleaning up on press. In this ISS screen printing trade show video I am in the Ranar booth on Sunday when the show was closing. I had been printing 2 different 1 color designs with black and gray ink. I didn’t have any ink scoops and someone stole my quart of black ink so I had to dump the ink and cards in that little plastic container. I was working on the fly and much like every trade show we forgot some minor details like ink scoops and such… LOL. It happens. But this should still be a fun and entertaining 3 minute video to watch. I left in the audio of the show while laying some funky music so you get the feel of being at the show while watching me work. ISS Screenprinting Trade Show: Meeting With People And The Adventurous Drive

Here’s a very cool screen printing video from the Ranar booth at the ISS show this past January 2017. In this video you’ll get to see what I do at the booth all day and how I interact with YouTube viewers and customers alike. It’s a sneak peek into what it’s like to work a trade show and I even included some footage of driving to and fro as well as while in the Long Beach area. I had a lot of fun interacting with everyone this year and it seemed like there were more people at the booth to see me than anything else…. LOL. That’s probably because I was so busy with people that I didn’t notice all the other booth activity. The weather was wicked. It rained almost the entire time I was there and on Sunday it flooded the roads which made my ride back to the hotel about 3 hours or so long. I guess the California drought is over. Feast or famine I suppose. I hope you enjoy this entertaining look into the life of a trade show exhibitor. I always help Ranar load the truck after the show although between the rain and my recent shoulder surgery I’m not sure how much help I was this year 😉
